President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday announced the recipients of Padma Shri awards, among the country’s highest civilian honours, on the eve of Republic Day.
In a statement, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated that a Yoga practitioner from Kuwait, Shaikha AJ Al aSabah, travel blogger couple Hugh and Colleen Gantzer from Uttarakhand will be conferred with a Padma Shri award.
Nagaland fruit farmer L Hangthing, instrumentalist P Datchanamoorthy from Puducherry. Social entrepreneur from Madhya Pradesh Sally Holkar, Marathi author Maruti Bhujangrao Chitampalli are among the other Padma awardees.
Vilas Dangre, Venkappa Ambaji Sugatekar, Hariman Sharma, Jumde Yomgam Gamlin, Naren Gurung, and Jagdish Joshila, Batool Begum, Pandi Ram Mandavi, Nirmala Devi are the other-noted personalities who have been announced to be the recipients of Padma Shri — the third-highest civilian honour in the country.
