A 10-wheeler trailer found itself stuck in a congested marketplace in Rajasthan’s Alwar after being misdirected by Google Maps. What followed was a seven-hour-long traffic jam in the area.
Several shops were damaged after the heavy trailer got stuck in the area, forcing authorities to extract the vehicle using a crane.
The driver of the trailer fled the scene after chaos ensued in the area.
According to the police, the trailer was en route from Jaipur to Dausa when its driver relied on Google Maps for navigation. However, due to incorrect directions, the vehicle veered off the state highway and entered the busy market area of Tunga.
The narrow lanes and dense traffic made it impossible for the trailer to turn, causing it to be wedged in between shops and parked vehicles.
As the trailer attempted to move forward, it damaged multiple storefronts and vehicles, bringing the entire market to a standstill.
Shopkeepers and commuters faced immense inconvenience, with many business owners expressing frustration over the losses incurred.
The situation escalated as over half a dozen shops suffered damage due to the vehicle, prompting shopkeepers to demand action from the authorities. Later, officials arrived at the scene and initiated efforts to remove the vehicle.
Using a crane, the police managed to remove the trailer after a hectic operation, which lasted for seven hours. The situation was finally brought under control, allowing normal traffic movement to resume.
