Prithvi Shaw back to MI again
The talented hitter Prithvi Shaw appears to have regained his concentration on cricket after a string of off-field distractions.
After receiving the crucial support from Australian cricket icon and head coach of the Delhi Capitals Ricky Ponting, Shaw has received support from former Team India captain and BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.
Ponting had predicted Shaw would succeed in the lucrative Indian Premier League in 2023, according to Ganguly, but the skilled hitter is now prepared to suit up for the Men in Blue once again.
“Rohit Sharma, the team’s current captain, and the Indian selectors are closely monitoring Shaw. I believe he is a capable athlete and eager to compete for India once more. The availability of spaces will determine whether he gets a chance, said Ganguly.
Shaw’s final international appearance for Team India came against Sri Lanka in 2021, which is noteworthy. The flashy opening was chosen for the earlier this year home series versus New Zealand. However, Shubman Gill was given the go-ahead before him, thus he simply warmed the bench.
A few days prior, Ponting had backed Shaw, claiming that the talented teenager had put in a lot of effort and had improved his training.
“He is physically in better form than I have ever seen him. I genuinely believe that this will be his most successful IPL season to date. He just has a new expression this year, and it appears that he is more ravenous than ever. This year, I believe everyone will get to witness the true Prithvi Shaw,” Ponting had said.
