Tech billionaire Elon Musk, along with his partner Shivon Zilis and their twin children, Azure and Strider, as well as his son X from his previous relationship, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Blair House in Washington.
As a gesture of goodwill, PM Modi presented Musk’s children with three timeless classics of Indian literature: “The Crescent Moon” by Rabindranath Tagore, “The Great RK Narayan Collection”, and “Panchatantra” by Pandit Vishnu Sharma.
Sharing images from the meeting on his official X handle, PM Modi said, “It was also a delight to meet Mr Elon Musk’s family and to talk about a wide range of subjects”.
In one of the images, Musk’s children were spotted reading the books gifted by PM Modi.
ABOUT THE BOOKS GIFTED BY PM MODI
The Great RK Narayan Collection showcases the work of one of India’s most revered writers, known for his simple yet profound storytelling. Set primarily in the fictional town of Malgudi, Narayan’s works offer humorous and insightful portrayals of Indian life, making him a literary figure of global significance.
Panchatantra – Illustrated Tales From Ancient India is a compilation of moral fables, structured into five books: Mitra-bheda, Mitralabha, Kakolukiyam, Labdhapranasam, and Apariksitakarakam. Considered one of the world’s oldest collections of wisdom literature, it imparts life lessons through animal allegories, appealing to both children and adults.
Rabindranath Tagore’s The Crescent Moon is a poetic exploration of childhood, capturing the innocence and imagination of young minds. Written for children, the collection reflects themes of nature, play, and the maternal bond, using language that is both lyrical and accessible.
