A body was found in a bag near the Moolithodu bridge in Kerala’s Wayanad. The victim has been identified as a migrant worker. Police have taken another migrant worker into custody in connection with the case.
The bag containing body parts was placed inside an auto-rickshaw near the bridge. The driver noticed the bag and informed the police after suspecting something unusual.
The police are conducting an investigation, and more details regarding the crime will be revealed later.
TIGER DECLARED MAN-EATER FOUND DEAD IN WAYANAND
Earlier, a tiger declared a man-eater by the Kerala government was found dead in Wayanad. The animal had killed a woman collecting coffee beans near a forest area. Following protests, the government ordered the tiger to be shot.
Forest officials had been tracking the tiger and found it dead in the Pilakav area. Officials confirmed its identity by matching stripe patterns.
The chief veterinary surgeon, Dr Arun Zachariah, said the tiger had injuries, likely from a fight with another tiger. KS Deepa, the chief conservator of forests, said the exact cause of death would be confirmed after a post-mortem. The department had been monitoring the tiger using cameras.
