Axar Patel was a key player with the bat in a six wicket loss to Gujarat, carrying his team to 162/8 in the first session with 36 runs off 22 deliveries.

After being involved in a car mishap last year, Rishabh Pant made his first public appearance on Tuesday when he attended the Delhi Capitals vs. Gujarat Titans IPL 2023 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
The legendary keeper-batter watched Delhi’s second game from the bleachers. Unfortunately, it was the home team’s second consecutive loss this year as they were defeated by the reigning winners by a margin of six wickets.
Vice-captain Axar Patel was a significant player throughout the game, scoring 36 runs off of 22 deliveries to help his team reach 162/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Rishabh Pant made a one-handed six during the game, a shot he has made far too frequently in his outings.
According to Axar Patel, “I didn’t plan the one-handed six,” a news statement from DC stated. “When I attempted to raise my limbs, my bottom hand fell off. Fortunately, I made a six on that shot. I then informed Rishabh that he would be getting the one-handed blow. I was pleased with my batting effort and am hoping to continue doing so for the Delhi Capitals.
“Meeting Rishabh in the changing area was wonderful. Gujarat squad members also showed up to greet him. Hopefully he gets better quickly and returns to Kotla. Then we can both play one-handed strokes,” he continued.
Delhi had suffered a 50-run loss to Lucknow Super Giants in their season’s opening match.
“The competition is still in its early stages. We don’t need to focus on too many elements of our game, according to me,” Axar Patel said. “Since we haven’t played together in a while, it will take some time for us to work as a team. Things will improve for us once our combos begin to function.
He continued, “It was disappointing to be on the wrong side of the result,” after the outcome on Tuesday. However, it was wonderful to perform in front of our supporters again. I wish the spectators had a good time. We’re hoping to play well in the remaining home contests.
